TUCSON, Ariz. (KVOA) – The University of Arizona has officially brought back its dorm rummage sale for the first time since 2018, and it’s already drawing big crowds.
Tucsonans are shopping at ACE Recycling on South Eisenhower Road for clothing, household items and furniture left behind by students. All items are priced at less than ten dollars, and any remaining items will be free on the second day of each sale weekend.
The sale continues with three more days available. Another day remains this weekend, and the sale resumes next weekend.
Proceeds from the sale will help support low-income and first-generation students through the Dorm Assistance Award. The event also serves an environmental purpose by keeping items out of landfills.
“The best part is watching the literal tons of material get saved from the landfill,” Burchell said.
