TUCSON, Ariz. (KVOA) – Motiejus Krivas announced he will return to the University of Arizona for the 2026-27 season.
The First Team All-Big 12 selection played in all 39 games during the Wildcats’ run to the Final Four in 2025-26. He averaged 10.4 points, 8.2 rebounds and 1.9 blocked shots per game while shooting 56.9% from the floor and 78% from the free throw line.
Krivas, a Big 12 All-Defensive team selection, blocked 73 shots during his junior season, a total that ranks seventh in Arizona history. In 44 games before the 2025-26 season, Krivas had 25 blocked shots.
The native of Lithuania registered a team-high nine double-doubles, including a 14-point, 14-rebound effort against Alabama and 14 points, 15 rebounds at Kansas. His impact on the game goes beyond the box score, as opponents shoot 7% worse from the floor when Krivas is on the court than when he is off.
Opposing teams also score 14 fewer points per 100 possessions when Krivas is on the court. He was named to the Kareem Abdul-Jabbar Center of the Year Midseason Watch List in 2025-26 and is expected to appear on numerous preseason watch lists heading into the 2026-27 season.
Krivas will play for head coach Tommy Lloyd and the Wildcats during the upcoming season.
