Tucson City Council votes to increase water rates | Community

TUCSON, Ariz. (KVOA) – Tucson City Council voted unanimously Tuesday to approve changes to water rates over the next four years.

News 4 Tucson followed the hearing to break down what the approval of Ordinance 12255 means for your water bill. Tucson water is seeking a 3.5% revenue increase every year starting this July through July of 2029.

The changes in prices depend on the serving size and the amount used. The increase starts at about one cent in July, then up to 14 cents the following year and up to 12 cents the year after that.

The ordinance also addresses miscellaneous fees and the CAP water resource fee.
