Jewish Friendship Group of SaddleBrooke | Community

We have spent the last few weeks saying goodbye to our snowbird friends, listening to exciting vacation plans, and conjuring up some summer adventures. But, as the summer approaches, we continue to plan for the months ahead.

APRIL 2. Second Night Seder. HOA 1 Vistas. What. An. Amazing. Night. Last month I promised a recap of what I was sure would be a wonderful night. In my wildest imagination I never thought it would be as spectacular as it was. The dining room was filled with 98 people, Including members, friends, and family. The atmosphere was a combination of joy for being together, recognition of the meaning of the occasion, and appreciation for our Saddlebrooke community. With each prayer, song, and reading we gave voice to our past and hopes for the future. An evening like this doesn’t happen without the efforts of many people. Thank you Sharon Hoff for coordinating the evening and all its moving parts. To Steve Rosen for preparing a lovely service. It is not an easy task, given the complexity of a seder, especially one that includes the participation of current and new members as well as invited guests. Carol and Mart Gordon for providing the seder plates and the haggadahs. A special thank you to both Susan Kravitz for her beautiful musical accompaniment and Seth Basker for adding meaningful poetry to our evening. And of course, Sandy Rosen for keeping all the balls in the air and her tireless devotion to the JFG.

Ladies Coffee. Monday April 20 at the home of Sandy Basker. Thank you Sandy for opening your home and providing yummy treats. We are grateful to have members who volunteer to host these lovely and important gatherings. The conversations are always lively and interesting.

Men’s Dinners April 16 MountainView East Room. The men of the JFG once again gathered for a hearty meal and interesting conversation. Whether you deem it debate or discussion, the topic is always pertinent to life in general and retirement.

Potluck. Tuesday, April 28, 5:00 pm HOA 1 Activity Center. Comfort foods. As of this writing we are on track to have a wonderful variety of foods to bring us all back to simpler times. Next month’s article will provide a recap for everyone who wasn’t in attendance and a reminder of the fun for those who were.

Ladies Coffee May 7th 10:30 at the home of Carol Gordon. Please watch for email registration. RSVP by April 30th.

Mens Diner May 21 5:30 at MountainView East Room. Once again, this popular event will have a topic for discussion chosen by the attendees. Prior to the event, Jeff Leftig will contact all registrants with suggestions. Look for his emails for registration information and links. For additional information please contact Jeff Luftig at [email protected]..

Please be sure to check the emails sent out by our secretary Carol Gordon. They will contain up to date information on future events. Last summer our informal cocktail parties were successful. We plan to continue them this year as well.

As a strictly social club we are not affiliated with any religious organization. We welcome all our neighbors to join us.

For any further information about the JFG or any of our events, please contact our president Sandy Rosen at [email protected].
