Autopsy reveals inmate died of natural causes inside Cochise County Jail | Top Stories

BISBEE, Ariz. (KVOA) – On Saturday night, the Cochise County Sheriff’s Office said an inmate found dead inside the Cochise County Jail on Mar. 31, died of natural causes.

The sheriff’s office revealed an autopsy shows Christopher Tickett died of natural causes after the 45-year-old was found dead in his cell back on Tuesday March 31 around 1 p.m. .

News 4 Tucson was told jail staff responded immediately and to try to save Tickett.

EMS crews arrived a short time later, but the inmate could not be revived.

The Cochise County Sheriff’s Office said it recognizes the seriousness of an in-custody death and is committed to through and transparent review of the circumstances surrounding the incident.
