Jean Trottier, 65, was arrested and faces charges related to a cold case from 1981 out of North Dakota, according to a local news outlet in the area.
SUN LAKES, Ariz. — Decades after a newborn was found dead on a North Dakota college campus, authorities have arrested an Arizona woman for her alleged connection to the child’s murder.
Jean Trottier, 63, was taken into custody and faces charges in a 1981 cold case. The Sun Lakes resident is accused of being the suspect in the death of a baby girl.
The child was found in a wooded area, and authorities said she had plastic covering her face. An autopsy revealed she was alive at birth and died of suffocation.
Investigators used advances in DNA technology to identify Trottier as the suspect.
