America 250: Boots of Honor memorial to visit Tennessee in tribute to service members killed since 9/11


Boots of Honor is a massive traveling exhibit of 7,470 individual combat boots — each representing a U.S. service member killed since 9/11. (Memories of Honor)

Memories of Honor, a Franklin, Tennessee non-profit dedicated to the mission of making every day Memorial Day has partnered with America 250 to bring ‘Boots of Honor’ to Tennessee to honor all U.S. service members killed since 9/11.
 

The backstory:

The Boots of Honor display — 7,470 individual combat boots, each representing a fallen service member who made the ultimate sacrifice, will be on display May 16–20 at Franklin Bicentennial Park in Franklin, TN. The display will be open to the public from sunup to sundown.

 

At the memorial, visitors walk among rows of boots, where each one is marked with a name, rank, and story of service. 

Country artist Brooks Herring to perform at Memories of Honor 

U.S. Navy veteran and Nashville-based country artist Brooks Herring, whose music carries the weight of his service and the honesty of his Southern roots, will perform Sunday, May 17. (Brooks Herring)

On Sunday, May 17, a Community Day of Remembrance is being held and will feature a musical performance by Navy veteran Brooks Herring, a Nashville-based country artist who blends Southern storytelling with blues-infused grit and modern country-rock energy.
