1 dead and 2 injured in Buckeye shooting, suspect still on the loose

BUCKEYE, Ariz. — One person has died and two others were injured in a shooting in Buckeye Thursday night.

Buckeye police responded to a shooting in the area of Elwood Street and 257th Avenue, officials confirmed. 

Three women between 16 and 20 years old were shot. 

One woman was pronounced dead at the scene and two others were taken to the hospital. 

One of the women taken to the hospital was pregnant, according to police.

2 males were seen running from the scene. 

Police say they are actively working on numerous leads.

Buckeye police posted on X for citizens to avoid the area. 

No other information was released. 12News is at the scene.
