Juveniles detained after an armed robbery in Phoenix

PHOENIX, Arizona — Early Sunday morning, the Phoenix Police Department responded to the area of 39th and Maryland Avenues regarding reports of an armed robbery.

Several juveniles armed with guns took property and fled in a car. Phoenix officers found the car, but it failed to stop, prompting a pursuit.  

Tactical and air units, along with the Department of Public Safety, assumed tracking the white Jeep. The pursuit continued westbound on Interstate 10, and the suspect vehicle exited at Watson Road, DPS officials said.  

The Phoenix Firebird Helicopter followed the car through various neighborhoods before the Jeep crashed into a parked car in Buckeye. The juveniles ran from the scene.

One man has been arrested in connection with the robbery. He has been identified as 19-year-old Jeremiah Coronado. 

Four other juvenile subjects were found and detained, and the stolen property was recovered. One juvenile male was taken to the hospital with a minor injury, Phoenix Police officials said.

This remains an active investigation.
