TUCSON, Ariz. (KVOA) – Southern Arizona residents will have the opportunity to support survivors of sexual violence simply by dining out this week as the annual “Dine Out for Safety” fundraiser returns April 15.
The one-day community event brings together 21 local restaurants across the region, with a portion of proceeds from sales going directly to the Southern Arizona Center Against Sexual Assault (SACASA). Organizers say the funds help sustain critical, no-cost services for survivors, including 24/7 crisis intervention, counseling, and trauma-informed care.
In addition to dining out, community members can also support the effort by purchasing raffle tickets for local prizes, donating online, or volunteering.
Participating restaurants include El Charro Café, Charro Steak & Del Rey, Reilly Craft Pizza & Drink, The Monica, JoJo’s Restaurant, Feast, Bumsted’s, Café 54, Mama Louisa’s Italian Restaurant, Gourmet Girls Gluten Free Bakery/Bistro, and several others across Tucson and the surrounding area.
Organizers say the event not only raises critical funds, but also strengthens community awareness and support for survivors of sexual assault.
