TUCSON, Ariz. (KVOA) – A woman is dead and a man is recovering after a shooting that police say happened at a different location before the victims arrived at a store in south Tucson.
Officers responded to a call about two shooting victims in the 5700 block of South Park Avenue around 9:24 p.m. on March 28. When they arrived, they found a 39-year-old man with apparent gunshot trauma inside the store and a woman with apparent gunshot trauma inside a vehicle.
The Tucson Fire Department evaluated both victims at the scene. The man was taken to a local hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening.
Despite lifesaving efforts, the woman was pronounced dead at the scene. She was identified as 48-year-old Annemarie Landavazo.
Next of kin has been notified. Police say early information suggests the shooting happened somewhere else and the victims drove to the Park Avenue location afterward.
The investigation is ongoing. The Tucson Police Department is asking anyone with information about this incident to call 911 or 88-CRIME to remain anonymous.
