Tucson Police searching for suspect involved in fatal hit-and-run | Crime



TUCSON, Ariz. (KVOA) – The Tucson Police Department is searching for a suspect involved in a fatal hit-and-run that claimed the life of a 30-year-old man. 

Anthony Steven Aurdal, 30, was identified as the victim in the fatal incident. 

According to TPD, Operations Division West officers responded to a report of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle in the 3200 block of North Oracle Road, near Fort Lowell Road. The fatal crash happened on Dec. 23 around 1 a.m. 

Aurdal was pronounced dead at the scene. TPD said the vehicle fled the area before officers arrived. 

Witness statements and roadway evidence revealed that the 30-year-old pedestrian was lying in the northbound lanes of Oracle Road when a vehicle hit him. TPD said the vehicle continued driving northbound without stopping. 

The vehicle involved in the incident is described as an early 2000s light-colored Ford Taurus. 

The investigation is ongoing. 

Anyone with information is advised to call 9-1-1 or 88-CRIME to remain anonymous.
