TUCSON, Ariz. (KVOA) — Tucson Police have released new details regarding a homicide investigation near Speedway Boulevard and Stone Avenue.
On Friday morning, shortly before 4:00 a.m., officers responded to reports of a shooting.
Tucson Police are investigating a shooting in Midtown Friday morning.
At the scene, officers located one initial victim that had been shot. The unidentified 57-year-old man was reportedly taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Officers were then directed to a second victim, east of Stone, near N. 7th Ave. The victim, identified as 46-year-old Aaron Taber Boatner was pronounced dead at the scene despite life-saving efforts by both TPD and TFD.
As additional officers were circulating the area, a third victim was located at a home near N. 6th Ave. The unidentified 44-year-old man was found with gunshot wounds to his lower extremities.
The man was taken to the hospital and TPD says he is currently in stable condition.
Through investigation, detectives learned that the shooting came about following an altercation involving multiple people.
TPD says a suspect discharged a firearm during the altercation, striking Aaron Boatner. The 57-year-old victim was also struck by gunfire during the course of the altercation.
According to TPD, the suspects then left the area, passing the residence near N. 6th Ave.
Another altercation occurred and one of the suspects began shooting into the yard of the home, striking the 44-year-old victim.
The suspects fled the scene prior to police arrival and TPD says no suspects are in custody as of Saturday afternoon.
