Tucson electric cycle rider, 51, killed in crash on NW side

A 51-year-old man riding an electric cycle on Tucson’s northwest side was killed Tuesday after colliding with a vehicle exiting a driveway, authorities say.

About 4:15 p.m. Travis Bell was riding east on West Camino Desierto near North Paseo Del Norte, in the area of North Oracle and West Magee roads, when he tried to pass a vehicle that was backing out of a driveway, the Pima County Sheriff’s Department said in a news release.

Bell collided with the vehicle and was ejected from the cycle, deputies said. He died at the crash scene.

The investigation continues, but speed is being investigated as a contributing factor in the crash, the release said.
