TODAY anchor Savannah Guthrie’s mom reported missing from her Foothills home | Top Stories


TUCSON, Ariz. – (KVOA) The Pima County Sheriff’s Department continues its search for 84-year-old Nancy Guthrie Sunday night.

PCSD confirms Guthrie was reported missing from her Catalina Foothills home. According to Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos, Guthrie was last seen at her home around 9:30 or 9:45 p.m. Saturday night.

Sheriff Nanos held a news conference Sunday night near Ms. Guthrie’s home close to E. Skyline Dr. and North Campbell Ave.

According to Nanos, Search and Rescue teams from several teams including Pima County and Border Patrol have been looking for Guthrie. The Pima County Homicide unit is looking at Guthrie’s home.

Nanos tells News 4 Tucson, helicopters were flying over the area for several hours Sunday.

“There are some things there that are concerning and we don’t want to miss anything,” Nanos said. “Search and Rescue ,their mission is, we want to find you – we want to find you safe and sound and help you and get you there. That still continues. But, we have an obligation to – when you look at things in this world of ours, you look at that and you go is there something wrong here, is there something missing? We can’t just dismiss that. We need to stay on.”

Authorities say about 100 people are involved in the search for Ms. Guthrie. The search early Monday morning.
