TUCSON, Ariz. (KVOA) — Tucson Electric Power is once again sponsoring the Winterhaven Festival of Lights.
Tucson residents will be able to visit the neighborhood from 6-10 p.m. and enjoy the decorations starting Dec. 14 until it closes on Dec. 28
TEP contributes $40,000 annually to the nonprofit group that organizes the festival to help defray operational costs for security, traffic control, portable restrooms and trash removal.
The 75th year marks the Diamond Anniversary, so TEP also provided new strings of energy efficient LED lights.
According to TEP, the contributions are funded by corporate resources, not customers’ rates.
This holiday celebration is also a major fundraiser for the Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona which received more than $31,000 and 37,000 pounds of donated food from visitors in 2023.
