Sahuarita crash claims life of 89-year-old | Local News

SAHUARITA, Ariz. – An elderly woman, identified as 89-year-old Marcia Jones, died in a single-vehicle accident on Nogales Highway just south of Sahuarita Road.

Officers from the Sahuarita Police Department responded to the scene on March 4, 2025, around 9:19 a.m. They found a citizen performing CPR on Jones. An SPD officer took over CPR until the Santa Rita Fire Department arrived and continued life-saving efforts.

Unfortunately, life-saving measures were unsuccessful, and Jones passed away at the scene.

SPD Traffic Investigators and Crime Scene Specialists are investigating the accident. Preliminary findings indicate that the vehicle was traveling southbound on Nogales Highway when it left the roadway and struck a tree.

Jones, the only occupant, was wearing a seatbelt, and neither speed nor impairment appeared to be factors in the crash. Initial information suggests a medical issue may have caused the collision.
