Pima Community College sent out an alert Wednesday afternoon about police activity at its Desert Vista Campus, 5901 S. Calle Santa Cruz.
The alert said police officers are searching the desert area west and south of campus.
It advises anyone receiving the alert to shelter in place or avoid the area.
