Oro Valley residents advised of median work causing lane closures for a week | Local News

ORO VALLEY, Ariz. (KVOA) – Residents in Oro Valley should prepare for traffic delays as a weeks worth of median maintenance work will start on Monday.

Northbound lane closures on Oracle Road are set to begin on Oct. 20, as the Town of Oro Valley Street Operations team conducts bi-annual median maintenance.

The maintenance will affect Oracle Road from south of Suffolk Drive to northbound Milepost 84. The work is expected to run through Oct. 24, with potential extension through Oct. 29, according to a media release.

Various sections of the northbound (inside) left lane will be closed daily from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., as this is a moving operation. Traffic control measures, including signage and digital message boards, will be in the area to assist drivers through the work zone.

Median maintenance involves tree trimming, removing trash, weed control, and general landscape upkeep.

Although Oracle Road is managed by the Arizona Department of Transportation, the Town of Oro Valley has had an agreement with ADOT since 2010 for landscape maintenance within town limits, according to a media release.

The Town of Oro Valley thanks the community for their patience and attention to safety during this period.
