Oro Valley campus won’t serve blind students, impacting Tucson families | News

TUCSON, Ariz. (KVOA) – The Arizona School for the Deaf and Blind has announced that its new Oro Valley campus will not accommodate blind and visually impaired students.

News 4 Tucson obtained an email from Superintendent Annette Reichman confirming this decision last week.

“Blind students will still get services, but where and how is still being decided,” Reichman said.

She also mentioned that these students will be placed in cluster sites in public school districts starting next fall.

The school is currently working on determining the specifics of these arrangements.
