“One Battle After Another” dominates Oscars | News



HOLLYWOOD, Calif. (KVOA) – Warner Bros’ action comedy “One Battle After Another” claimed the Best Picture award at the 98th annual Academy Awards, held Sunday night at the Dolby Theater.

The action-thriller starring Leonardo DiCaprio dominated the show. Paul Thomas Anderson won Best Director and Best Adapted Screenplay, and Sean Penn won Best Supporting Actor for his role in the film.

Michael B. Jordan secured the Best Actor award for his dual roles in “Sinners,” marking his first Academy Award nomination. Jessie Buckley won Best Actress for her role in “Hamnet,” becoming the first Irishwoman to win the prize. 

Ryan Coogler won his first Oscar for Original Screenplay for “Sinners,” marking his fifth career nomination. Amy Madigan received the Best Supporting Actress award for her role in “Weapons.” Norway picked up its first Academy Award ever with the Best International Feature win “Sentimental Value.”
