TUCSON, Ariz. (KVOA) — Non-profit Literacy Connects was awarded a $50,000 dollar grant by Bank of America.
This comes after the non-profit was picked for this year’s Neighborhood Champions award for offering free English and literature classes to adults.
Neighborhood Champions is part of the bank’s efforts to help boost economic opportunities.
The grant will help the non-profit expand their outreach by including one-on-one employment coaching, among other services.
Literacy Connects also helps adults develop basic computer and math skills.
Bank of America has invested over $9,000,000 dollars in more than 200 in profits.
