TUCSON, Ariz. (KVOA) – Miami (OH) Football is leaving Tucson as the Snoop Dogg Arizona Bowl Champions!

The 10th Arizona Bowl lived up to the hype. Snoop Dogg became the bowl game’s sponsor and the bowl game saw record-breaking attendance

The RedHawks crushed Colorado State 43-17 Saturday at Arizona Stadium.

An Arizona Bowl record 40,076 fans packed the stands to watch the game and see Snoop Dogg.

After a slow first half, Miami scored five second-half touchdowns to beat Colorado State 43-17.

Snoop Dogg was quite the host. He executed the coin toss, joined the tv broadcast on the CW and conducted the Miami and Colorado State marching bands in a halftime performance. Snoop presented the Arizona Bowl trophy to Miami University and Head Coach Chuck Martin in a ’64 Chevy Impala low rider.

In a game slowed by four field goals in the first half, the second half saw the scoreboard come to life. Miami scored five touchdowns. Two of them came from senior running back Kevin Davis, who also rushed for a career-high 148 yards rushing, and an Arizona Bowl record for the longest rushing touchdown. Davis was named the Snoop Dogg Arizona Bowl MVP.

Miami (OH) beat Colorado State 43-17 in the Snoop Dogg Arizona Bowl. Longtime Tucson-area football coach Jeff Scurran talked about the game and what the bowl means to Southern Arizona.

The Miami defense was relentless, forcing four turnovers (two fumbles and two interceptions) and consistently frustrating a previously powerful Rams offensive attack. Head Coach Chuck Martin praised his squad’s defensive prowess.

“Defense was really the big story,” Martin said. “They controlled the game from start to finish, and Colorado State can really run the ball.”
