Man struck, killed crossing busy Tucson street

A 54-year-old man was struck and killed Tuesday night while crossing a busy midtown intersection, Tucson police say.

Robert Alan Harp, was crossing East Speedway at North Craycroft Road in a crosswalk about 8 p.m. when he was struck by a westbound Toyota Tundra pickup truck, police said Wednesday in a news release.

Though Harp was using a marked crosswalk, police say he was crossing against a green traffic signal.

The Tundra’s driver, an unidentified 61-year-old man, stopped immediately and was cooperating with police.
