LDS church sends huge truckload of donated food to Tucson

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on Tuesday delivered a 40,000-pound truckload of donated food to the Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona.

The delivery is part of a larger LDS initiative of donating 250 semi-truckloads of food to 250 food banks across all 50 states as part of the 250th anniversary of the United States.

The church partnered with America250 and JustServe.org to get people involved in volunteering at their local nonprofits.
