MARANA, Ariz. (KVOA) – Kingman Unified School District is working to bring its students back home after a bus accident in Marana on April 1. While most students have been discharged from the hospital, two students and two staff members remain hospitalized in Tucson.
KUSD is coordinating with staff and families to provide transportation back to Kingman for those discharged. The district expressed gratitude to Tucson and Marana hospitals, first responders, and the community for their exceptional support.
“We would like to express our heartfelt appreciation to the Tucson and Marana hospitals, first aid responders, and their community for their exceptional support and assistance provided to our students and staff,” KUSD said in a statement.
The district plans to assemble care baskets for those involved in the accident and is seeking community contributions. Items requested include gas, grocery, and restaurant gift cards, new blankets, ice packs, heating pads, get-well notes, prepackaged snacks, and water bottles.
“If our community is willing to help, we would be thankful for contributions,” KUSD said.
