TUCSON, Ariz. (KVOA) – A homicide investigation is underway following a fatal shooting Saturday morning near downtown.
The fatal shooting occurred on April 5, 2025, at a residence on West 21st Street, west of Sixth Avenue.
Patrol officers from Operations Division South responded just after 10 a.m. to find Clayton Moore Bishop, 44, with gunshot wounds. Bishop was transported to a local hospital, where he later died.
Police identified the suspected shooter as Dirk Barret Prather, 34. According to detectives, Bishop was temporarily staying at Prather’s home.
Prather has been charged with first-degree murder and is being held at the Pima County Jail on a $1 million bond.
