TUCSON – The Bittersweet trail is located in the Tucson Mountains in the Robles Pass area and the views are beautiful on this side of town!
You can walk, run or bike along the 3.3-mile Bittersweet Trail but expect a good workout as it’s rated moderate in difficulty!
This trail is relatively flat and rocky but if you want a climb, you take the Bittersweet Trail to the Sunset Pass trail. This route will also lead you to beautiful views of Tucson!
Along the way you will also see tons of Saguaros two to four times your size! This trail is accessible year-round but dogs are not allowed!
Make sure to wear proper shoes for the rocky terrain and head out early, temperatures will be 10 to 20 degrees above average the next few days.
As always, remember to drink plenty of water before, during and after you hit the trails.
You can access this trail by heading west on Ajo Highway! From there, turn left onto Bilbray Avenue and then take another left onto Coyote Ridge Trail, which will take you along a dirt road. At the end of Coyote Ridge, you will see a gate and the beginning of the trailhead!
