Golder Ranch Fire District has received the Government Finance Officers Association’s Distinguished Budget Presentation Award for its 2025 fiscal year budget.
This marks the second consecutive year that Golder Ranch Fire District has earned this prestigious recognition.
To qualify for the award, Golder Ranch Fire District had to meet nationally recognized guidelines for effective budget presentation, including:
• A policy document;
• A financial plan;
• An operations guide;
• A communications device.
To earn the award, the fire district’s budget document had to be rated “proficient” in all four categories, as well as meet the 14 mandatory criteria within those categories.
David Christian, finance director of Golder Ranch Fire District, said, “Receiving the GFOA Distinguished Budget Presentation Award for the second year in a row is an honor and a testament to the hard work and dedication of our entire team. It reflects our ongoing commitment to providing clear, comprehensive, and accurate financial information to our community and the taxpayers who support our organization.”
There are more than 1,700 participants in the Government Finance Officers Association’s Awards Program.
Award recipients like Golder Ranch Fire District lead the way in improving the quality of budgeting and serve as exemplary models for other governments throughout North America.
