Governor Katie Hobbs has ordered flags at all state buildings to be lowered to half-staff from sunrise until sunset on Monday, June 16, in honor of Apache Junction Officer Gabriel Facio’s funeral and procession.
“I’m devastated by Officer Facio’s passing. My heart goes out to his
family, the Apache Junction Police Department, and fellow law
enforcement,” the governor said in a news release.
Officer Facio, a three-year veteran of the Apache Junction Police Department, died on June 8, after being shot in the line of duty on June 2. Facio leaves behind a wife, two children and a grandchild.
Individuals, businesses and other organizations are encouraged to join in this tribute.
