Explore OV app helps guests, locals | News

Oro Valley has launched Explore OV, a web-based digital application intended to “make exploring Oro Valley simpler and more enjoyable than ever,” the town said in a release.

The app empowers users to “effortlessly discover, map out, and customize their Oro Valley experience,” the town said.

“Our tourism strategy is focused on creating memorable experiences that bring visitors back, year after year,” said Paul Melcher, community and economic development director for the town. “Explore OV is a cornerstone of that effort, showcasing the best of Oro Valley in a way that’s engaging, accessible and supportive of our local economy.”

Through Explore OV, guests can create personalized itineraries based on their interests and schedules, identify curated public art tours, find real-time navigation, share details with friends and family and receive continuous updates, the release said.

Guests can find “easy access to Oro Valley’s attractions and things to do, dining, shopping, events, and themed public art tours — such as Desert Animals, People in Action, and Technology and Art,” the release said. “Explore OV is the ideal travel companion for visitors and residents alike.”

In February, the Arizona Office of Tourism designated Oro Valley as a destination marketing organization known as Explore Oro Valley. The Explore OV app is “among our first DMO initiatives, making it easier to discover what makes Oro Valley a memorable destination,” the release said.

Guests can download the Explore OV app in the Apple App Store or Google Play. The town’s website has an Explore OV app web page where people can learn more and access additional links to download the app directly.
