Construction to start on Sugar Hill Housing Development in Tucson | News

TUCSON, Ariz. (KVOA) – A groundbreaking event is set to take place this morning for the Sugar Hill housing development on North Stone Avenue.

The new project is being constructed on the site of the former Bum Steer nightclub.

The development is made possible by a $2.5 million low-income housing tax credit award from the Arizona Department of Housing.

Once completed, the Sugar Hill on Stone project will offer 66 affordable housing units.

These units will include one, two, or three bedrooms across three and four-story buildings.

Construction begins today and is expected to be completed by October 2026.
