Celebrate July 4th: New citizens sworn in at Tucson’s Saguaro Park | Local News

TUCSON, Ariz. (KVOA) – More than 20 people became U.S. citizens during a naturalization ceremony at Saguaro National Park on July 4, 2025. The event, held at the Red Hills Visitor Center, was part of an ongoing Fourth of July tradition.

The ceremony included individuals from diverse countries such as Mexico, El Salvador, Guatemala, South Korea, Brazil, Peru, and Taiwan. They expressed pride in representing both their countries of origin and their new American citizenship.

During the ceremony, attendees witnessed the moment when over 20 people took the Oath of Allegiance, committing their loyalty to the United States and its Constitution.

The room was filled with emotions, as hugs, high fives, and tears marked the significance of the day.

Following the ceremony, the new citizens had the opportunity to register to vote, marking the beginning of their active participation in American democracy.

Today’s ceremony not only celebrated America’s birthday but also a new chapter for these new Americans.
