Az dispensaries recalling marijuana flower over possible aspergillus contamination

Arizona dispensaries are voluntarily recalling two marijuana products
due to possible contamination with aspergillus, a fungus that can cause
allergic reactions or infection — usually in people already sick with
something else.

The products being voluntarily recalled are Legacy & Co, Super Yuzu, batch # K-2025-19-Z1-SYUZ, and Nature’s Wonder, Trap Queen, batch # 0701R30TQ, both in flower form.

To date, no illnesses have been reported.

Prior to providing these products for sale, they were tested and received passing certificates of analysis. However, the Arizona Department of
Health Services received additional information that indicates some units from these batches may have been contaminated.

ADHS contacted the facilities that produced the products, who worked with distribution and retail partners to remove any potentially impacted products from store shelves. Possibly contaminated products are quarantined at the point of sale until secondary confirmatory testing is completed.

Testing requirements for marijuana products can be reviewed on Table 3.1 for each 9 A.A.C. 18 Adult-Use Marijuana Program and 9 A.A.C. 17 Medical Marijuana Program. 

Patients
who have purchased a potentially contaminated product should not
ingest, inhale, or otherwise consume them, and ADHS is advising purchasers to dispose of the product
described.

Anyone who has already taken any of the products and has any of
these symptoms should contact their healthcare provider or seek care in
the event of an emergency.

Consumers should contact the dispensary or establishment where they purchased the products if they have any questions.

Symptoms of allergic reactions or infection from aspergillus range from asthma or cold-like
symptoms to fever and chest pain, among many others.
