Arizona Women’s Basketball snaps three-game skid with dominant win over Kansas | News



TUCSON, Ariz. (KVOA) – Arizona Women’s Basketball snapped its three-game losing streak with a 74-59 win over Kansas.

The Wildcats had a balanced offensive attack, with five players scoring in double figures. Lauryn Swann led the team with 17 points. Isis Beh had her first career double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds. Montaya Dew also had a career-high 11 points, including two threes. Jada Williams (13) and Paulina Paris (11) also reached double digit scoring. 

Arizona set the tone early, shooting 61.5% from the field in the first quarter and building a 19-11 lead. The Wildcats extended their advantage in the second quarter, heading into halftime with a 37-23 edge. Arizona made six threes in the first half and nine overall, improving from its one made three against Kansas State. 

Kansas made a push in the third quarter, narrowing the deficit to 10 points. However, Arizona maintained its double-digit lead the rest of the way. 

The Wildcats played great team basketball. They had 18 assists on 27 made baskets. Plus, they had 32 bench points. 

The Wildcats improve to 12-8 overall and 3-4 in Big 12 play. Arizona looks to bring momentum back to McKale Wednesday against Cincinnati. The U of A is still searchinig for its first conference home win.
