TUCSON, Ariz. (KVOA) – Arizona Track & Field’s Zach Extine is bringing home some hardware from the NCAA Outdoor Championships in Eugene, Oregon.
The Senior set a program record and finished runner-up in the men’s 110m hurdles Friday. He also earned First-Team All-American honors.
Extine had a time of 13.13 in the men’s 110m hurdles final, finishing second to Auburn’s Ja’Kobe Tharp (13.05). He set the previous school record (13.17) on March 3, 2025, in Tucson.
He is just the third men’s 110m hurdler to earn All-American at the NCAA Outdoor Championships in program history (Frank Bennett, 1986 & John Johnson, 1984). With his runner-up finish, he is also the highest finisher in the outdoor event in program history (9th; Barnett and 6th; Johnson).
With the time of 13.13, Extine falls within the Olympic qualifying range and could compete on the international stage in the future.
