TUCSON, Ariz. (KVOA) – Arizona Baseball is heading to the Eugene Regional.
The Wildcats earned the No. 2 seed and will open up the weekend against No. 3 Cal Poly (41-17). The winner of that game will play the winner of No. 1 and 12th-overall seed Oregon and No. 4 Utah Valley.
It’ll be their 5th straight and 44th overall appearance in the NCAA Tournament.
Arizona looks to have a better showing than it did in the 2024 Tucson Regional. The Wildcats were swept by GCU and Dallas Baptist.
The U of A earned an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament after winning the Big 12 Tournament. The Wildcats rallied back to beat TCU 2-1 in 10 innings. It was their second straight conference championship after winning the Pac-12 regular season and tournament titles in 2024.
The Wildcats did not earn a regional host site like it did in 2024. In fact, no Big 12 team was selected to host for the first time since 1999. The host sites include eight SEC teams, three ACC teams, two Big 10 teams, two Sun Belt teams and one independent school (Oregon State).
