Angel Charity for Children announced plans to raise a record-breaking $1.75 million to support eight organizations serving children in Pima County, Ariz. This milestone comes in the charity’s 43rd year, marking significant contributions aimed at improving the lives of local children.
Vicky Curtis, 2025 Angel Charity for Children General Chair, emphasized the impact of this initiative. “Angel Charity for Children is proud to grant a record-breaking $1.75 million to eight incredible beneficiaries this year, including San Miguel High School and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southern Arizona. This new milestone in our 43rd year reflects the generosity and dedication of our members, donors, and community partners,” said Curtis.
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southern Arizona, Inc. will receive $856,697 to transform a new building into a Mentoring Activity Center. This center will serve as a hub for at-risk children to connect, learn, and grow.
San Miguel High School is set to receive $568,000 for transportation resources essential to its Corporate Work Study program. The funds will purchase four 12-passenger vans and two 18-passenger minibuses to ensure students can travel to their internships.
The remaining $327,840.76 will be distributed among six Opportunity Grant beneficiaries, including Angel Heart Pajama Project, Arizona Friends of Foster Children Foundation, Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum, Hope Kids, Literacy Connects, and Spreading Threads Clothing Bank.
Curtis expressed enthusiasm for the upcoming year. “We are delighted to have the ability to support organizations that provide critical resources and opportunities for children in need. We are excited to embark on another year of transformative giving and invite the community to join us in making a difference,” she said.
Angel Charity’s 2025 fundraising efforts include the annual Capital Campaign, The Spring Event on April 27, The Big Deal Poker Party on September 19, and Chance Raffle ticket sales. The year will culminate in the Angel Ball on December 13, celebrating the contributions of donors and volunteers.
