3 killed in Tucson crash identified

Authorities have identified three people who were killed in a two-vehicle crash Saturday night on Tucson’s southwest side.

The deadly wreck occurred about 8:10 p.m. near where West Ajo Way becomes Arizona 86, just southwest of the city, the state Department of Public Safety said in a news release.

In it, a Jeep Cherokee SUV being used as a ride-share vehicle struck a Ford Fusion while making a left turn, the state DPS said. Two passengers in the Jeep — Aleesha Herrington, 25, and Dejon Nicole Weaver, 48 — were killed. The driver was hospitalized.

A 17-year-old in the rear seat of the Ford — Julian Daniel Monte — was also killed in the wreck. Two others in the Ford were hospitalized, Drexel Heights Fire said.

The crash remains under investigations, DPS said.
