PHOENIX — Rain and snow are falling across Arizona as a storm system moves through.
It won’t be a lot, but much of northern Arizona and even some spots across southeastern Arizona will see rain or snow through this evening.
The snow level is around 5,000 feet and we’ll see an inch or two in areas above that elevation along the Mogollon Rim and in the White Mountains.
Northerly winds behind the storm are accelerating down the Colorado River Valley. Parts of Mohave County are under a Wind Advisory until 7 p.m., with gusts at 35 to 40 mph in Bullhead City and Lake Havasu City.
Here in the Valley, winds stay light with just a few passing clouds.
As the colder air settles in behind the storm tonight, temperatures will plummet.
Early morning lows in the Valley will fall into the upper 30s to low 40s.
Freeze Warnings are in effect for Punkin Center, Miami, Peridot, Sunflower, Globe, and San Carlos from midnight until 9 a.m. on Thursday. In these areas, remember to
“Protect the P’s”: people, pets, plants and pipes.
High pressure will build back in this weekend and early next week, keeping things dry and warming us back into the 70s starting Sunday.
