Crash causes power outage in central Phoenix, APS reports

PHOENIX — A crash in central Phoenix has left over 100 APS customers without power on one of the hottest days of the year.

The Phoenix Police Department said a crash involving one vehicle and downed power lines on Vogel Avenue, between 5th and 7th avenues, has caused traffic restrictions. No one was injured in the crash, police said, and drivers are asked to avoid the area.

According to the APS Outage Map, approximately 140 customers are affected. The area affected is Cinnabar Avenue to Hatcher Road and 7th Avenue to 3rd Drive.

The expected restoration time is 10:20 p.m., APS said online.
