APS is donating $250,000 to The Salvation Army to help the victims of devastating flooding in Gila County, according to a news release.
The company will also provide supplies, including personal protective equipment and tools, to support volunteers during recovery efforts in the Globe-Miami area.
“Arizona isn’t just where we work–it’s home. Seeing our neighbors in the Globe-Miami community go through such devastating flooding is heartbreaking,” Ted Geisler, APS President and CEO, said in the news release. “We want our customers to know they’re not alone–we’re here to help however we can. Please reach out if you need support with your account or services. Above all, your safety and well-being matter most to us.”
APS said they will immediately provide the $250,000 in shareholder funds to The Salvation Army to help with cleanup. The company will also provide additional support, including food and shelter, to victims, and is collecting hard hats, gloves, and eye protection to distribute to volunteers assisting with recovery efforts, the news release said.
For customers who have been impacted by the flooding and have concerns about their APS accounts, they are encouraged to call (602) 371-7171 or (800) 253-9405 to speak to an APS advisor 24/7 in English or Spanish.
