A 55-year-old man was shot to death while he was pumping gas at a QuikTrip station in Phoenix.
PHOENIX — A Maricopa County grand jury has indicted two 19-year-olds with several felony offenses after a 55-year-old man was found shot to death at a QuikTrip station last month.
Naul Hernandez was killed while he was pumping gas on Feb. 21 at a station near 27th Avenue and Thomas Road. The two suspects allegedly involved in the shooting have been identified as Isaac Lechuga and Arturo Vazquez-Rodriguez.
The Maricopa County Attorney’s Office said Hernandez was an “innocent bystander.”
Before Hernandez was killed, the suspects allegedly robbed a separate victim at gunpoint at another QuikTrip convenience store near 25th Avenue and Camelback Road. The suspect then fled and allegedly shot Hernandez at the other QuikTrip location, according to the indictment.
The indictment charges the suspects with first-degree murder, kidnapping, armed robbery, aggravated assault and conspiracy. Both suspects have been issued million-dollar bonds and their trial is scheduled for October.
