Southwest Phoenix pursuit leads to crash injuring several people, including 2 children

PHOENIX, Arizona — A police pursuit that ended in a crash in southwest Phoenix resulted in several people being taken to the hospital, including two children, according to Phoenix police. 

Phoenix police responded to a call for service near 35th and Southern avenues in south Phoenix just before 6 p.m. Saturday. 

While at this call, a car rammed into the side of the police car, while there was an officer inside and another outside. 

Police told 12News that the car that crashed failed to stop for officers, so a pursuit then ensued. 

During the pursuit, the suspect’s car crashed into three other cars near 67th Avenue and Lower Buckeye Road. 

This crash resulted in several people being taken to the hospital, including two children and the adult female suspect involved in the pursuit, police said.

The suspect has non-life-threatening injuries and police have not said the extent of the other’s injuries. No officers were injured, according to the department. 

Police have closed off the area and are currently investigating the scene.
