Shooting in west Phoenix leaves woman dead; Investigation underway

PHOENIX — An investigation is underway after a woman was shot and killed in west Phoenix Monday morning.

Officers were called to the scene near 75th Avenue and Encanto Boulevard, south of Desert Sky Mall, shortly before 10 a.m. for reports of a shooting, city police said.

When they arrived, they found the woman injured and unresponsive. She was pronounced dead on the scene.

Details are limited at this time as the investigation is still in the early stages. Police haven’t released the victim’s identity or details about potential suspects.

Individuals who submit tips that lead to an arrest or indictment in the case can get a reward of up to $1,000.
