Shooting at Phoenix apartment complex leaves man dead

PHOENIX — A man has died after a shooting at a Phoenix apartment complex, city police said. 

According to early reports, officers were called to the complex near 43rd Street and McDowell Road for reports of the shooting just after 1:30 a.m.

When they arrived, they found the victim with a gunshot wound. First responders took him to the hospital where he later died from his injuries.

Police were told that a suspect drove off from the scene before officers arrived. Homicide detectives are now working to learn more.

The deceased man has been identified as 24-year-old Jacob Sierra.
