Scottsdale firefighter arrested in prostitution sting, placed on leave

PHOENIX — A Scottsdale firefighter was arrested and booked into the city jail on charges of solicitation of prostitution, police say.

Scottsdale Police say Brett Shupnick, a Scottsdale fire captain, was allegedly involved in a multi-agency prostitution sting on Jan. 21.

The Scottsdale Fire Department says Shupnick was off-duty at the time of the alleged crime and has been placed on non-disciplinary leave pending the outcome of the investigation. 

In a statement from the Scottsdale Fire Department, they told 12News, “We are deeply concerned about the allegations and have placed the employee on non-disciplinary leave, pending the outcome of an investigation. The Scottsdale Fire Department holds our employees to the highest standards, especially a company officer.”
