Police searching for 3 escaped inmates in Arizona



The White Mountain Apache Police Department issued a community alert letting people know officers were out looking for six inmates who escaped from jail.

WHITERIVER, Ariz. — Officers are still searching for three of the six inmates who have escaped from the White Mountain Apache Tribe Detention Center in Whiteriver, according to a post from the White Mountain Apache Police Department on Facebook. 

According to the WMAPD, they were looking for Julian S. Thomas, Isaiah B. Kindelay, Tyrien W. Thompson, Shaquille Ivins, Rio Joplin and Brandon Sanchez.  

At 10:25 p.m., WMAPD announced that they had taken Ivins, Kindelay and Thompson back into custody. They are still searching for Sanchez, Joplin and Thomas. 

The department said officers are searching for the three remaining escaped inmates in the area around the jail and are reaching out to the inmates’ families, friends and significant others. 

WMAPD did not say what the inmates were being held for nor how they escaped.  

If you have seen any of the escaped inmates, you are asked to call WMAPD at (928) 338-4942.
