Police looking for suspect after man shot multiple times in Mesa

MESA, Ariz. — A man is in the hospital after being shot multiple times in Mesa, according to authorities.

The Mesa Police Department said officers responded to a home near Center Street and McKellips Road at around 2 a.m. after reports that a man was pounding on the front door of the home.

Officers searched but did not find anyone at the home; they did find a man in the park who had been shot later in the night.

Officers weren’t able to get any information from the victim, who was taken to the hospital for treatment. He is currently listed as being in critical but stable condition, police said.

Neighbors reported hearing gunshots in the area, police said.

A suspect has not been identified.
