Phoenix police investigating West Valley shooting that sent 1 to the hospital

PHOENIX — An investigation is underway after a shooting sent one person to the hospital, according to the Phoenix Police Department. 

Phoenix police told 12News that the shooting happened on Saturday on the 4900 block of Cheery Lynn Road, which is just northeast of the intersection of 51st Avenue and Thomas Road.

One person was taken to a nearby hospital after the shooting and officers are speaking with multiple people to learn what led up to the shooting. 

No other details have been released and no one involved in the shooting has been identified.
